Well, I made it. After 101 days of painting I reached the end. I went over the 30 days a bit, lol.
|
#25 - My must haves for a good workout. |
|
#26 - Bricks - nice texture study. |
How I feel....
- Adjusted. Towards the end I nearly stopped painting and blogging altogether. I was overwhelmed. It's fine, I'm not a factory pumping out art. I have my ups and downs.
- Curious. I have a desire to find my own style. I plan to work on a series so I can focus one idea instead of jumping around.
- Happy. The list of prompts took the guess work out of what I should do each day. I like to look back and see my strengths and weaknesses.
|
#27 - I have the worst struggle with brown paint. This took 3 days to figure out. |
|
#28 - I've been on-line window shopping for chairs lately. |
|
#29 - Flock - carefree |
What I learned...
- I need to mix more colors and not use them straight out of the tube.
- There is nothing wrong with changing my original idea if it's not working out.
- I prefer a looser brush stroke.
- Creativity needs patience.
|
#30 - Can't wait to paint more faces. |
Thank you for all your kind words of encouragement through this challenge! I'm off to work in my art journal. Click

Congratulations on finishing your challenge - some times it can seem overwhelming and as if you are doing it because you have to and not because you want to so you're right - you aren't a factory pumping out art. You've got some beautiful work here and it seems you can turn your hand to any subject which is good - I guess that's a good thing about the prompts they guide in you what you have to paint and I like the idea of that as you probably ended up painting things you might never otherwise think of doing.
ReplyDeleteYou are exactly right. Some days I was like ugh why am I doing this but it really paid off! Thank you so much Nic and have a great weekend.
DeleteCongratulations on completing your challenge!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with the variety of paintings (both in technique & in subject matter)...
I love the texture of the bee painting & the amazing glasses - such a seemingly simple subject, but so beautifully done! (I also love that you showed your process on that one!)
They are all fantastic & I think it's so cool that you included your thoughts with each painting - great idea!

Deletegreat post. working in a series will definitely help you out with finding your style. It took me along time and when I learn a 'new' technique from another artist for a while it'll show in my work.
