Wedding Box

I was commissioned by a good friend to create a wedding memory box.  I was asked to incorporate owls, bird nest, a place for a 4x6 photo in a vintage beach theme.  I tried to use as many of her requests as possible and this is what I came up with.

This frame is attached with magnets so that a photo can be added.

I wanted the box to look magical and aged.  I worked really hard and I was pleased to hear that she loves it!

Tag Tuesday Challenge--Crowns

I finally got a chance to participate in Tag Tuesday again.  The theme is crowns, so I was going to use my Martha Stewart crown punch when I came across the Graphics Fairy website.  I found this great crown image and used it for my background.  This rest of the tag is simple with fabric, glitter, and matte accents.

Have a great day!

MPTS Tag Tutorial

Hello everyone!
I have had some requests to do a tutorial for the tag I did for the Aug MPTS DT challenge, so here it goes!

You will need to cover the base of your tag with paper.  You may cover the whole tag or a portion like I did.  Just make sure the paper is large enough so that when you fold your flap back the paper tag will not show underneath.  Here I have used Graphic 45 papers.

Cut another piece of paper the same size of your tag and glue down but leave your corner unglued.

You should now be able to flip up just the bottom corner as if you are turning a page.  At this point I usually ink all of my edges.  It is easier to use double sided paper or you could always glue papers back to back.

I used a hot glue gun to glue down the flap of my paper.  Remember not to pull the paper too tight when glueing back the flap.  I try to make a rounded fold not a flat one.  Add embellishments to your corner like a charm or button.

Continue to add more embellishments as you like.  I decided to tuck roses into the flap of my corner.

I finished the tag with prima pearls, glossy accents on the ladies hats, and a ribbon.

Here is another variation.  I used Pressed petals papers, American Crafts flair, white roses, and a Friskers butterfly punch.

Thanks for stopping by!
