Works In Progress

It's been so busy around here I'm surprised I don't jump in the shower with my bra on!  My visual journal is coming along.  I have a few more blank pages to fill.  Once it slows down I plan to revive my Youtube channel again and post videos there.  I get so dang nervous about being on video it makes me crazy.  I keep telling myself I can do it!

Who knows if I'm done with this page or not.  As you can see I have a bunch of layers goin' already.

I started sketching a girl for my 100 painted faces challenge.  She is a fish/mermaid hybrid.  Can't wait to get her painted because I plan to give her a tribal vibe.

Here are a few postcards I'm working on for my ETSY store.  I'm torn about weather or not I should seal/varnish these or not.  They seem to be more durable sealed but I hate the glossy finish.  Any suggestions??  I've tried matte medium but it's makes it sorta sticky.

These mini-tag girlies will allow me to reach my goal of 100 faces by the end of December.  I will keep them simple and try not to over do it. (Yeah right!)

I really appreciate all the love I received on last week's post!!!  I'm still working on replies.  Make sure you follow my blog to see every post.  My family doesn't always get this thug art life we live so we gotta stick together!

I love visiting your blogs!  So, please leave me a comment if you can, I love hearing your feedback.

  3. gosh you are so busy with many creative things and they are all super Danielle! I am loving your "tribal" portrait. I have only tried sealing with matte medium but want to try using cold wax medium as a sealer (which is matte) as described by Serena Barton.

  4. I love the gorgeous blue colour of your butterfly and that face is fabulous. I'm not sure what you can seal the cards with. I use many layers of full gloss on my paintings but that is because I use inks which dry shiny and the paint is matte, so it brings the whole thing together. Your tags are going to be great.

  7. All of your projects looks great. I've had the same issue with postcards, wether to seal them or not. There is a fixative called, Workable fixatif, a spray bottle (it stinks for a short while) and at least the postcards won't be damaged from a few raindrops.

  12. Your journal girl looks as if she is going to be really beautiful! I can't wait to see how you proceed with her. I love your little tags too. I've been using PaperArtsy Satin Glaze to seal my work. I don't know if you would find that suitable for what you do ? xx

  13. I love your mini tags, but I was especially taken by your blue butterfly. That painting fills my eyes, which is the greatest compliment I can give.

  14. Just wonderful, I love the start of your new face, can't wait to see more. Perhaps you could try a spray fix as suggested above. Matt spray fixes work well. Find one that works with the medium you are using and you should be ok. I have the workable fixative too and it is really good with pastels. Thank you for linking up to Show Your Face this week and for the shout out too. Kx
