You know I am a little behind but I figure quality over quantity!

I had some other ATCs that didn't come out as well as these and I 

decided not to post them.  I hate rushing the creative process 

especially when the end product is not so good.

Daily ATC Update

I've been MIA lately...I got a little sick and I was rear-ended in traffic.  Thank the Lord no one was hurt.  My car has a few scratches but nothing serious.  I haven't been in an accident in years so it was a bit of a shock.

On a better note, I have a few ATCs to share but haven't had time to take any photos.  I don't know if I will upload before or after Christmas...most likely after.

I plan on enjoying my break with friends and family then I will be back to add the remaining ATCs.

I had this crazy idea to make 31 ATCs for the month of December!  

Each day I will share an ATC and at the end of the month I will have a give away.  

I figure it would be a great way to end the year and use up some more of my stash.

My First Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Thank You!

Hello!

I'm excited to share this card with you.  It took FOREVER to make!  I just kept fussing around with it because I don't want all my cards and projects to look so similar but in the end who cares.  As long as I'm havin fun that's all that matters!

I love the theme of this Simon Says Stamp Challenge.  This is my favorite time of year.  

I'm so thankful for family and friends and I'm ready to kick off the holidays!

 I did take something new from this card - I used Tim Holtz tissue tape to mimic writing for my background.  It was way too plain back there and I didn't want to stamp so the tape worked out great.

Welcome to my new series!  Each Sunday I will share an ATC using random items from my stash.  I have so many scraps I can't just throw out so here is my solution.  I hope I can keep up with it and I hope you get inspired to use up your leftovers as well.

Melissa Frances Altered Canvas

I have an exciting project share today featuring Melissa Frances Resin Wings.  I have wanted to incorporate my scrapbooking embellishments with my mixed media paintings but I wasn't sure how to approach to the idea.  I got my wings out of hiding and used them as the focal point to this painting.

The background has many layers of paint, masking tape, 

tissue papers and gel mediums to create textures and depth.

As you can see the resin wings take acrylic paint nicely.

I used chipboard letters to create my sentiment.  I painted over them many times (I couldn't make up my mind on the color) but finally ended up with blue.  I did lots of dry brushing with white on top of the letters to help them blend a bit into the background.

I had fun mixing in different colors and splattering paint everywhere.

I used stencils and tissue tape within my layers.
