Photo Box

Happy Sunday,
I just finished this altered photo box for a friend and wall hanging for my sister.

Most of the embellishments are from Recollections, the box along with a frame came from Micheal's.

The paper is Gartner Studios, lace from Micheal's, stamps are Martha Stewart, Hampton Arts, and Heidi Swapp.  The base is made from cereal boxes.

Tags, Tags, Tags

Ok, so I signed up for a tag swap over on Your Paper Panty.ning.com like a month ago and the theme was mixed media/journaling page.  So, I thought this would be a good time to use up my scraps.  The group was fairly large so had to make like 12 tags and they all came out different.

I wanted the tags to look messy and distressed so here is how the layering went:
~strips of scrap paper adheared to my tag
~a little bit of stickels
~cut out a dress form shape, use as a mask and paint over it
~find the free dress form here at ArtofMarie (awesome blog!)
~remove the mask
~add liquid pearls for belt and necklace
~finger paint around the edges
~add flowers and buttons to finish

I got to use a ton of my scraps and everyone was different.

House Warming Card and Some other projects!

I recently made a quick trip to Micheals and found some really cute rub-ons.  They were in the dollar section so I didn't know how well they would transfer but I thought I could give them a shot.

I got to test out the chair rub-on with a card I made for a friends house warming party.  The card turned out great and the rub-on's are awesome.  I wish I would have picked up more!  The brand is Micheals and you do have to rub for a while because there are so many details but it's worth it esp. for a dollar!

I traced around a house shape chipboard album from Micheals for the card base, the stamp is from Creative Cafe, flat back pearls are Recollections, the butterfly clip is Making Memories, and the key is K & Company.

The only problem I ran into was finding an envolpe because my card was so big, so I just wrapped in plastic.

Here is another project I wanted to post for the Alice in Wonderland mini page swap over on Your Paper Pantry.ning.

The paper is Prima (an older Collection, can't remember the name) the clock and hand stamp are from Recollections and the butterfly stamp is Martha Stewart.

The paper and flowers are Prima,  I downloaded some fonts for all of the words and printed on my Prima papers.  The pearls and clock stamp are Recollections.

MPTS DT Challenge for September

The theme for September over on MPTS blog was "rustic" and we were to use a rusty bucket, twine, and torn paper.  This was a challenge for me because I had so many ideas but this is the tag I ended up with.

The base of my tag is from old packaging.  I used torn paper scraps for my background.  I had some left over fabric with a lady washing clothes in a river which gave me inspiration for the sentiment.  The small bucket came from Hobby Lobby where the doll house stuff is found.  I added some trim, prima flowers and a heart pearl and I was done!
