Art Journal Page - Different

It's 3am and I can't sleep.  I worked on this page a couple weeks ago.  There have been a few changes since but I wanted to share anyway.  I recently added a Tim Holtz word sticker "different" to the top left butterfly.  Lately, I've been trying my best to make sure my work is different.  I love looking at other artists work and I spend way too much time on Pinterest.  Sometimes I have to force myself to shut everyone else out and focus on what I like.

I like to write in between the layers of paint.  It's interesting visually but
I can't go back and read what I've written.  It works for this page so
I'm content but I think in the future I will leave some areas legible.

I did a lot of mark making with color pens, pencils, and watercolor crayons.

I have decided to re-open my ETSY shop.  I don't have much at the moment but if you follow me there you will be the first to be notified of new items added to the shop!

Moleskine Monday

I made some new rubber stamps the other day.  It's the horizontal bars you see on the far right.  I really enjoy using my own stamps.  I still dream of having my own line one day.  Well, anyway I have been trying to upload this photo all day today.  I got a new camera which came with new editing software....  I finally broke down and read the MANUAL!  Imagine that!

I've been into abstract expressionism lately and I am trying to recreate it in my own way.  I wanted to share photos I've pinned on Pinterest for inspiration.

Both the artists are women and they have great websites so please look them up if you have time.

Moleskine Monday

Although I have not posted in quite a while my blog has gone through a much needed make over.  I'm trying to find ways to blog more and create more.  I plan to start with Moleskine Monday.  This will allow me to share what I have been working on in my journal from the past week.  Here is my first post.  This is a watercolor Moleskine I ordered off of Amazon last year.

In the Studio...

Today I wanted to share a snapshot of my desk.  I'm working in a brand new journal.  I don't know if these pages are finished yet, but I like where it's headed.

Rescue Boat - Art Journal Page

When I'm working in my journal I don't always know what my page will look like until I'm done.  I almost gave up on this page a few times but instead of throwing it out
I just kept adding layers of paint, stamps, and stencils.

I knew how to sail a boat before I knew how to drive a car.
I grew up on the water and miss it so much.

I'm off to Paris....

I wish!  No, I'm not going to Paris but I did create two tags for this week's Fussy and Fancy challenge...Trip around the World.  I did a lot of stamping and fabric collage.  I tried not to think too hard.  I just added random bits and here are the finished tags...

This will be my last post for the Fussy and Fancy DT.  I have had a great time on the team and will continue to follow and participate in their great challenges.  Thank you for following along with me and I hope you have a chance to join in this weeks challenge!

Combining My Blogs & Index Card A Day Challenge

I have decided to stop posting on my other blog and just put everything here...I'm not sure why I was keeping them separate but I'll just have to see how it goes.

Anyway, on my other blog, I joined a daily challenge called Index card a Day hosted by Tammy over on Daisy Yellow.  Here are some of my recent cards.

Well, thanks for following!

My First Smash Book Entry

So...I finally caved and got a Smash Book.  I've wanted one for so long and when I went home to visit my parents I picked one up!  I'm very excited although I think I'm trying a bit too hard to make it perfect.  I'm sure that will fade in time but I did want to share my first entry.

I had fun with this page and already have pics picked out for my next few pages.
Please let me know if you like to Smash as well!
